Hi had my x-terra 70 for around a month and i was wondering how other people have them set up. at the minute i have mine set as follows. sensitivity 18-20 threshold 20 with two tones. i also auto set the ground balance and set it to track. been having some good finds with it the last being a charles 1 hammered sixpence.

hi there muzzp
i have the 705 i set my machine to all metal you get a bit more depth like that, sounds set to 3 tone, set the noise cancel and auto ground balance and then set +3 over the ground balance reading, thrashold i dont set that very high as all metal is going to sound off on every target, power is set to match the ground i am on if you use the 18.75 khz dd watch out if you go to high on the power you can over do it and the small silver hammerds can be missed if you over power the minelab this will also happen with the tesoro tejon,i find the 18.75 khz coils seem to be the best match for my 705. :D

I am new to the XT-70 but I have found these settings work for me.Vol 30,threshold 12,Tones 2,auto gnd bal, auto noise cancel, sens as high as I can get it(I dont mind the odd bit of chirping)run in all metal.I think you will find that if you slow your swing down the meter id gets more accurate and you can winkle out the good stuff from close by iron signals.I love this machine, its the best I have used, just need to get a couple more coils.By the way,its terrific on wet sand.I was pulling up coins from some depth. :D
