The Golden Mask are great machines. I have had loads of tectors including Etrac, T2 and Whites V3. I think all round the GM is the best machine I have had especially when you consider the price. I detect alongside my daughter with an SE. She has never had a signal that I could not get.

I think they are good value for money but that doesn't mean its going to be the best performer on your sites. Against my T2 the T2 comes out lighter, as deep and is more versatile. If you have a near top of range machine already you may not see an improvement.

If you have a limited amount of money you want to spend and want a new detector its had to beat the value of some of these machines from Poland and Bulgaria so ungrading from a cheaper detector is a bit of a no brainer. If your happy to buy secondhand then there's a vast range of other machines that could suit better. You might want to detect land and work wet sand so you would need to look elsewhere.

I really liked the T2. However, there were some places where I used to detect it just used to take off. It was virtually unusable. Yet on other sites, no problem.

The reason that you don't see any T2's for sale is because the people who have them realise how good they are & don't want to sell them but you see lot's golden mask's for sale as people don't like them.

I don't think the bit about the Golden Masks is right. I know lots of people who like them. Also there are not that many for sale. Most people I know who have sold are wanting a screen to watch.

Thought I had already posted this but there's lots of Golden Masks around in good condion...three in three weeks all either near mint or mint condition. Two have been bought by people on Rogers Relic's.

It would be interesting to hear why people are selling on, I doubt if they are all waiting for the Blisstool LTC 48 to arrive and the new Rutus, Demet, Armand machines are an unknown quantity. At the moment G.M. retains the best value for money new machine slot and that five year warranty is a big plus. On the other hand there's supposed to be revamps of the existing range coming at some point.

Thing is why do people feel they need a meter ?
